The Histology - Connective Tissue SecondLook™ application is a study aid that provides a series of histology slides for users to self-test their level of knowledge and ability to recognize histological structures. The SecondLook apps are incredibly helpful in making studying an interactive process. I benefited so much from using them in my histology course and believe they are a must-have for every student! Great layout, detailed questions and diagrams, and very user friendly. I cannot praise this app enough!
Dr. Robert Hortsch, Ph.D and his team have built a fantastic series of apps made easily accessible by ALL levels of medical education. I learned about in a histology class at the University of Michigan this past year, and, after previous reluctance to use it, found that its use significantly boosted my academic achievement in the class. Without SecondLook, Im not sure I wouldve learned what I did in the class! I recommend this to all my pre-med friends taking histo and anatomy.
Some bad moments
Once I have learned the histology of an organ or tissue, the SecondLook app is a great review tool. The image quality of the EM and light micrographs is excellent and the questions are to the point and allow a comprehensive test of one’s histology knowledge and corresponding skill to recognize cells and tissues. The new version has all the nice features of the old app and is simple and easy to use. I also love that it now works as well on the iPhone.
This is a quick and easy to use review tool for histology. The images are superb and the questions let me know within minutes whether I have learned the material and know how to identify cells and tissues.
Excellent app for study and review purposes. The pictures were of great quality and the associated study questions were helpful and appropriate. The interface was easy to navigate and was bug-free during my uses. I plan to recommend to my students.
histology is underrated in rigor as it is time consuming. i use this as a primer to get started during each block and have a general overview before going into greater detail. it is interactive, easy to use, high yield, concise, and promotes active learning. the full version was worth every penny.
I love the SecondLook app! The images and interface are clear, easy to use, and focus on high-yield histology content. Having the slides in app form also make reviewing super convenient - I often flip through SecondLook walking to or from school.
The SecondLook review apps are a great way to test your knowledge of histology and to review for step 1. I recommend them to all my friends. The image quality is excellent and the self assessment approach to reviewing histology is one of the best ways to solidify long-term memory. Also, if you ever have any issues with the app, the administrators are prompt and extremely helpful. I have nothing bad to say about the app, except maybe that I wish there were more SecondLook apps available for different subjects! A great tool to have in any study plan!
